WHAT DOES THE SITE RESIDENCY ENABLE YOU TO DO?
It gives me a space and surroundings that will ease, enable and help me with work that is required to enable my artistic projects. If I can develop my entrepreneurship and figure out a good way to sit down, gather and structure my information and share my visions in time – that will hopefully lead to more potent and rich projects.
In this work situation where I´m tossing myself around a lot, the possibility to have a fixed space for a longer period of time gives a clear solid ground in between.
WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON RIGHT AT THIS MOMENT?
I’m working on a new project SKINNING TRUE MESH / 16:9 full time texture together with designer Linnea Bågander (phd in Costume design, Textilhögskolan in Borås, Sweden). Exploring textures and functions through body, movement and materials. It will result in a series of 9 videos of ”analogue animations”, aiming for artificial yet tactile sensations. This our second collaboration, in many ways we continue our work in questioning and challenging what a body can be or do.
Currently also busy with the project ”Lost in Limbo” that explores vacuums and confusions. So far the vacuum has found it´s way to very intense material with some emotional explosions.
HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO FURTHER DEVELOP DURING YOUR RESIDENCY AT SITE?
I wish to find consistency and efficiency in my workflow. I want to deepen, articulate and explore my artistry.
The residency aims to enable artistic and organizational development, through free access to office space and studio time as well as counselling. Please contact Anne-Sofie Ericsson for more information.
