CALL THE GHOST – OPEN WORKSHOPS WITH WONMYEONG WON AT SITE JULY 8-13

Wonmyeong Won will be in residency at SITE from July 8-13, where he will continue to develop his work *PRUVULAZZU (Dust). Throughout his week at SITE, he will organize the open workshop series CALL THE GHOST, which is aimed towards everyone interested in performing arts, dance, and music.

When: Tuesday, July 8 – Sunday, July 13 from 10:00 – 12:00, 13:00 – 15:00, and 16:00 – 18:00.

On Sunday, July 13 from 18:00 – 18:20, we will host an open showing to the public.

You can come and go as you wish during these workshops.

What we will do: Try out and practice parts of the materials from the upcoming work *PRUVULAZZU (Dust). Combining movement and sound.

What to bring: Comfortable clothes. Brass and wood instruments if you have any.

Aimed towards: Everyone interested in performing arts, dance, and music. The workshops are open to both professional and non-professional dancers and musicians, or students who play brass instruments/woodwind instruments. The workshops are open to all ages from 7-70 years old. The working language is English. Children aged 7-18 are welcome to join the workshops, accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The residency with Won Won Myeong is made in collaboration with Dansplats Skog.


Wonmyeong Won has been traveling around the globe for nearly 30 years as a nomadic cultural artist and is currently based in Delsbo, Hälsningland. He currently works through the  WON WON MYEONG COMPANY founded in 2018. He has worked as a performer, mentor, researcher, and developer for various projects and areas. He graduated from the Seoul Institution of the Arts (1996-1998) and from the Korean National University of Arts (1998-2002) in South Korea, where he encountered various dance forms and researched multiple materials and methods. 

Since 2001 as performer he has collaborated with various promised/inspirational creators around the world and worked with artists such as, Sung Soo Ahn Pick up Group(KOR), Carolyn Carlson Company(FRA), Wim Vandekeybus/Ultima vez (BEL), Marie Chouinard Company(CAN), Bill Coleman (CAN), Tero Saarinen Company(FIN), Mia Habib Production(NOR) among others. In parallel, conducting an innovative program called [Harmonious man] based on his method of “humanistic consilience approaching” by practice and training from his living experiences, trials, and realisation. 

Over the past 30 years, he has explored various aspects of people’s lives and traveled to remote and sparsely populated areas around the globe. 

His work shows Multiculturalism/Interdisciplinary, Humanness, Manifest and Non-ordinary mental state related with the Dance, Humanity, Anthropologie and Cosmology & continues developing and creating programs with local artists, organisers with the community in Delsbo, where he is based today. 

In the past 3 years, he has been re-grouping the team for an incomplete project called PRUVULAZZU (Dust) working between the Baltic Sea and the Mediterranean Sea.
