WHAT DOES THE SITE RESIDENCY ENABLE YOU TO DO?
For me, this residency will give me a context. A place, room, space and time to unfold my ideas and make them more tangible, I believe. My work are never ending processes. This residency enables me to unfold and develop my ideas, especially by sharing them with others. With the support that SITE offers, I can explore my ideas further and give them more visible forms. Also curious to learn and discover together with other artists, and take part of their work.
WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON RIGHT AT THIS MOMENT?
I explore in the idiom of house dance and hip-hop. Currently interested in two themes that sometimes collide: energy/movement energy and the relationship between imagination and the perceived reality. How energy travels through bodies (a vibe), exploring intrapersonal and social relations and sound while dancing. Energy as movement that is never ending, always converting from one form to another (resting, vibrating, rotating, traveling, resounding). Also, what happens in the meeting between a thought and the perceived reality? How do we perform this meeting? Imagination as a root to creativity and innovation. Can we use neurological pathways as pathways in dance practice?
HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO FURTHER DEVELOP DURING YOUR RESIDENCY AT SITE?
First, I would like to dig deeper into my ideas. However, during this period my aim is to create more material and visible outcomes. Such as choreographic methods, writings, film and photo. To share my processes in different ways, so that the ideas can develop. Find collaborations. Applying for grants.
